The Stevesmith and Chimp Show
The following is what I posted over at the UK Nova Radio Forum where my show originates. I hope this simplifies and makes everyone feel more comfortable with contributing on a regular basis! Please note topic for Feb 17!!! I am depending on all of YOU!
A slight overhaul for our Wednesday show...or at least our method of putting it together. Rather than having a different thread for each week I have started this one to cover it all. My goal is to keep several weeks worth of topics going so that if anyone wants to be a part of any upcoming show there will be time for you to plan. Hopefully that will put an end (or at least slow down) the constant last minute nagging. Heh. I will post as many topics in advance as we can come up with. You may contact me as soon as one of the topics strikes your fancy and we will go about recording something for the show you choose to contribute to.
Rules are still exactly the same. One topic per show. All of your voices talking for two hours. Me and Chimp moderating and laughing for two hours on a Wednesday night. Music, fun camaraderie! You can choose to do a Skype call with me...preferably pre-recorded to avoid any last minute technical glitches or you can record an mp3 of yourself talking about the week's topic.
My email address is thestevesmithshow@gmail.com
My Skype name is Steveontheradio
Please feel free to use both liberally!
Now to the nitty gritty. Upcoming topics:
January 28 - Favorite Literary Characters form books, movies, tv, etc.
February 4 - Broadway! Talk about favorite theater experiences. Plays, musicals or thepian experiences!
February 11 - Valentine Show. Love, romance, dedications, secret crushes!
February 18 - One famous person from history or the present you would like to meet and spend an entire night with and why.
February 25 - Tribute to Barbra Streisand by her fans! You knew it had to happen!
If any topic needs further explanation, just ask. As always please mention any music you would like to hear to go along with your file.
Thanks to everybody for making this show so much fun and lending your support to keep it that way! :yep:

Re: The Stevesmith and Chimp Show
As we have exhausted all the topics for the month of February, here are some new ones for March:
March 4 - Supernatural: The weirdest thing that ever happened to me! Tell your personal ghost stories.
March 11 - The Day the World Changed: Talk about an event in your life or a movie or a piece of art that changed the way you view the world.
March 18 - The Dog Ate My Plane Ticket: As we begin to plan for Novapalooza '09 I want you to think of an excuse as to why you can't come! The most outlandish tall tale will be declared the "winner!"
March 25 - Good Barbra/Bad Barbra: The best and worst of Streisand by the fans and non-fans alike!
Let me know if you want to talk about any of these topics between now and the date of the show(s) or if you need more explanation.

if you come out of your hiding place today, then I'll skype with you.
Re: The Stevesmith and Chimp Show
Tonight's show is the day the world changed.
An experience so powerful that it changes how you view everything around you. For me (and I'm sure many others) it was becoming a parent that altered my perceptions the most. I have also been strongly affected by movies, music and theater. Art so amazing that you always remember it. It stays with you. It gets in your bones.
I would love to hear about your experiences. If you have Skype my name there is Steveontheradio. Add me! My email is thestevesmithshow@gmail.com if you want to simply record and send a file.
Me and Chimp will be on from 6 to 8pm central time tonight due to the U.S. time change last week. The U.K. and the rest of Europe do not change until the end of the month.

Re: The Stevesmith and Chimp Show
The upcoming Wednesday show (May 20) will be all of us talking about censorship. Would love to hear all of your thoughts. We can talk serious or silly about it. Personally I have a couple different schools of thought on censorship that evolve the more I think about it.
If you want to record an mp3 file you can send it to me at thestevesmithshow@gmail.com
Or let me know if you'd like to have a Skype call. My Skype name is Steveontheradio.

Re: The Stevesmith and Chimp Show
Tonight we talk about the glorious days of summer. Memories of childhood days spent out of school. Going to the drive-in. Picnics at the beach. Outdoor concerts. Fireworks. And of course ...lemonade. Always, always lemonade.

Re: The Stevesmith and Chimp Show
As I started doing show pages on Facebook, I stopped posting here. But I think I will try to do it regularly again. Please keep in mind that I am shit at maintaining anything on a regular basis!
Alright, this week:
This week's show topic comes to us from the one and only Miss Tippi! The idea is to think of questions to ask some of our other listeners/members. As we are talking to people on Skype during the show, the first 3 questions to be asked in the chatroom will be answered by our guests. If you have a specific question that you've always wanted to ask anyone, email it to me and I will sneak it in during the conversation!
So if you are going to talk to us this week, be prepared for any and all questions. You know our peeps are NOT shy! Naturally, those of us who are here in the "studio" will be up for answering questions as well. That will, hopefully include myself, Chimp, Jazzy and Johnny and any of the other Pontiac residents who happen to drop by!
Upcoming shows:
September 30 - Mix-Up Sing-Off, Part Deux! (More karaoking!!!)
October 7 - Barbra's New Double CD, Love is the Answer - The new Streisand CD produced by Diana Krall is released on September 29 with a flurry of appearances including Jonathan Ross in the UK and an intimate jazz concert in NYC. My Streisand mates will join me to discuss all the happenings.
